Your Advocacy Plan: From Vision to Action
1. Advocate for Creative Funding Solutions
- Host a Community Brainstorm: Organize a collaborative forum with parents, educators, local officials and private sector experts to explore innovative funding models such as public-private partnerships (P3s), tax increment financing or creative leasing agreements.
- Launch a “Funding Our Future” Campaign: Use compelling visuals, testimonials and data-driven stories in your PTA communications to spotlight funding needs and potential solutions.
- Interactive Storytelling: Share before-and-after success stories of districts that transformed their facilities through innovative funding, inspiring stakeholders to act locally.
2. Promote Equitable Facility Funding
- Coalition-Building with Underserved Communities: Form partnerships with districts that have limited resources to amplify their voices in advocating for fair state funding formulas.
- Advocate for Priority Equity Funding: Lobby for policies that prioritize underserved schools in state infrastructure grant allocations, ensuring all students have access to safe, modern spaces.

- Collaborate With Green Industry Partners: Engage local businesses and environmental organizations to provide expertise, funding or in-kind donations for eco-friendly construction projects.Set up an advocacy table at your next PTA meeting with sample letters and talking points.
4. Advocate for Strategic Long-Term Planning
- Establish a “School Infrastructure Task Force”: Work with local legislators to create a task force that identifies long-term strategies for sustainable school facility funding.
