Clara Barton Elementary PTSA was awarded LWPTSA Council’s You Rock! Award at the June 2021 membership meeting for reimagining their Ice Cream Social.
This was a family-favorite event that the PTSA adapted to a drive-through format as part of the beginning of the year school supply pick-up. It was closely coordinated in partnership with the school. The PTSA demonstrated grace and flexibility in adapting to last minute changes. Along with ice cream, the PTSA handed out flyers welcoming students to the new school year and inviting families to join the PTSA. One new parent was so impressed with the event that they joined the board!
