The Magic of a Moment...

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

    Offer a flat ribbon with theme, "Participant" ribbon with Reflections Logo and year.

Reflections Program Overview

Distribution of Information
- Complete bottom section of 
entry form before making copies; must have chair contact information
- Form must be printed on white paper
- Parents and child’s signature required
- Artist statement and title are required

Ideas for Recognition/Celebration
- Art walk
- Recognition celebration
- Awards, certificates and ribbons
- Council awards align with State PTA: Outstanding Interpretation + Award of Excellence in each category and they advance to state. Several Awards of Merit in each category that do not advance to state.
- Names and pictures in school newsletter, yearbook etc.

Ideas for Judging
- Find judges outside of school and community to avoid conflict of interest
- Please do not forward all entries to Council without judging

Rules/Proper Form Submission
- Please refer to 
Reflections User Guide the the WA State PTSA mailed to all schools
- User guide can also be found on State PTA website or email your Council Reflections chair

Advancing Entries to Council
- 25 entries from each school (with no more than 15 of that 25 from visual arts, and no more than 10 from Photography)
- Complete and submit 
Form A via email to Council Reflections Chairs
- Form A is available on the 
WA State PTA website
- Make copies of everything including entry forms
- Separate entries into categories, then by grade divisions and put in separate bags
- Label all bags with school name, LWSD Council, category and grade division
- Package all bags in a portfolio with school name on outside of portfolio

Take-Down and Returning Artwork
- Reflections art will be on display at the LW Resource Center for a week after the Reception
- Reflections Chair or school representatives are responsible for taking down entries at the LWRC
- Please make arrangements with us if you have to pick up at a later date
- We will keep some entries from each school to display at the Founder’s Day Luncheon and February School Board Meeting
