Reflections 2020-2021 Theme is I Matter Because

Independent judges have recognized 75 student entries with awards of Outstanding Interpretation, Award of Excellence and Award of Merit. Sixty-five entries will represent the Lake Washington PTSA Council and advance to the Washington State PTA round of the 2020-2021 Reflections program. The theme for this year is “I Matter Because.”

Student artists are advancing to the Washington State Reflections Program in all 7 divisions:

  • Dance Choreography – 6 entries
  • Film – 3 entries
  • Literature – 12 entries
  • Music Composition – 12 entries
  • Photography – 11 entries
  • Visual Arts – 19 entries
  • Special Artists – 2 entries

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Through the program, Lake Washington PTSA Council and PTAs across the country urge students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice (dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts) reflecting on a specific theme. There also is a special artist division option for students with disabilities to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in the program. Students are recognized for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful. For more information about the program, visit PTA.org/Reflections.
