WSPTA Student Awards Celebration – In Person @ Juanita High School Performing Arts Center

WSPTA invites families to celebrate our state Reflections winners and essay contest winners on Saturday, April 20, in person at Juanita High School’s Performing Arts Center! Doors open at 3 pm, and the celebration begins at 3:30 pm.

Advocacy Roundtable @ Virtual on Zoom

All local PTA leaders, advocacy representatives and interested parents in our school communities are invited to participate in LWPTSA Council’s advocacy roundtable virtually on Zoom. We will discuss and brainstorm ways we can use our individual and collective voices to address critical issues and influence positive changes together. Potential topics include:
  • Pedestrian/student safety on walking/bicycle routes on & around school campuses
  • Lunch debt
  • Upcoming levy

Courageous Conversation (Part 2 of 2) @ Virtual on Zoom

All PTA and DEI leaders are invited to join us virtually on Zoom in April and May for a two-part discussion and learning series: Courageous Conversation®. Both sessions will center on courageous conversations about race and will be facilitated by Na’eemah Webb, LWSD Family Engagement and Community Outreach Coordinator, and Adanna Abakporo, LWSD Equity and Family Engagement Facilitator.

  • Sessions: April 3, 6–7 pm, and May 1, 6–7 pm
  • Zoom links will be shared in our April 1 and April 29 issues of Weekly Waves, as well as here on our website calendar

LWPTSA Council Membership Meeting @ Virtual on Zoom
May 2 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

All local PTA leaders are invited to attend our monthly membership meetings held the first Thursday of the month during the school year. Meetings will mostly be during daytime hours, with occasional evening meeting times, and will be a mix of in-person and virtual Zoom meetings.

In-person membership meetings will be held at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center in Redmond Town Center. The LWSD Resource Center address is: 16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052. Zoom meeting links for our online meetings will be available in the Weekly Waves newsletter that all local PTA leaders receive.
